When I try to click on my desktop icons they jump around. Somebody must have sent me a virus. How can I get rid of it? OS is Windows '95.

Do you have anti-virus software installed on your PC and are your DAT files up to date? Both Norton and McAfee have DOS level scanning/cleaning utilities that you can run from the DOS prompt before you boot into Windows to clean the virus.

Another handy quick and dirty scan (no download needed) can be done from:

If you run McAfee, for instance, be sure you specify a scan of all files (rather than only exe's) or you will potentially miss non-executables or indirect content as a virus transmission source.

That just happened to me yesterday. I found one .CGI file extension that was infected by the JS/SEEKER.gen virus. This shows how important it is to be thorough in scanning all files instead of just high probability default file types.
