My dead horse, so I must beat it!
Ok this is what I need to figure out;
1. Cisco 4507r multiplayer switch
2. 4 vlans
3. The 4507 is connected via fiber to a cisco 3550
4. I have 3 different networks that connect through
the 3550
a. 10.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 (default gateway 10.16.50.1)
b. 10.2.0.0 255.255.0.0 (default gateway 10.2.50.2)
c. 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 (default gateway 10.1.50.1)
5. I set up the vlans to match the above networks.
ie. vlan1 = ip address 10.16.50.1
6. I have setup IP routing using Rip and added network 10.0.0.0 (which is all it will allow me to do)
7. If I have assigned vlan3 (10.1.0.0) to the port that connect the 4507 and the 3550.
8. If I have a pc that’s ip is 10.1.X.X connected to a port on the 3550, I can see the rest of the network like I should.
9. My problem is that I will also have PCs that are on different networks connected to ports on this same 3550. When I change the IP to 10.16.X.X , I can no longer see the network…..and I understand why this happens.
10. Is there a way around this?
11. Do I need to configure the 3550 in some manner?
