My contact list keeps disappearing!!

I'm not sure how to fix this problem, I'm using Outlook XP and my contact list keeps disappearing. I'll restart outlook and it'll be there again......

There is also one e-mail address that I commonly use, it won't let me completely type it in. I'll get the first two letters in the field and it'll erase everything I've typed.

Is this just one of the Microsoft mystery bugs or does anyone know a fix for this problem?
