My computer is taken over - Part Deux! 1

In the previous thread linked above, I described a problem where my computer dials up the internet by itself and starts sending info. That problem was solved with your help. It was solved by removing sub 7 trojan as described by steamwiz.

For a period of time my computer had no problems.
Then I did some surfing and I think I hit a bad site and the problem re-appeared.
Now it seems it is doing the same thing again (dialing up on it's own).
But the behavior is a little different. Doesn't dial up as often, doesn't transfer as much data.
Most important, there is no O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System Service] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSREXE.EXE
in my hihackthis log like last time.

Whoops. I missed it. Looks like the same thing is there again (msrexe.exe). I will follow the symantec instructions to edit my registry again.

I don't think that spybot caught that one.

I broke down and bought Norton System works which is now installed. I think I am happy and protected, but my computer now seems to do everything about 1/2 as fast.

Norton system works does use lots of resources .
Only install the system works components you need.
