Clean WinXP Pro installation has the following issues:
1) about 40% of the time, TCP/IP fails upon startup. CSNW is installed, and XP connects to the Netware server, but apparently disables any tcp/ip connections: internet, samba systems, etc. Solution has been to shutdown and reboot until tcp/ip connects successfully to W2K server.
2) periodically, doubleclicking on My Computer opens, then a doubleclick on the local drive results in a 5+ minute delay in opening (and sometimes 'not responding'). CTRL-ALT-DEL / applications / end task often doesn't -- but when it does, there is another 4-5 min delay while the desktop is cleared of all icons, the taskbar is frozen. Then the icons are back and the system appears to continue.
Hardware: AMD Athlon 850/256Mb RAM/20Gb HD/RTK8139NIC/Nvidia Video/Creative Audio PCI
Any ideas?
