MY COMPAQ PRESARIO1200 WILL NOT START UP

MY COMPAQ PRESARIO 1200 LAPTOP JUST SUDDENLY, WILL NOT START UP! WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON, IT SOUNDS LIKE IF IT'S GOING TO GO ON BUT ONLY THE 3 GREEN LIGHTS ON THE BOTTOM LEFT HAND SIDE, TURN ON. ALSO, IT MAKES THIS REPETITIVE NOISE(SORT OF LIKE THE NOISE A TYPEWRITER MAKES WHEN YOU PUSH DOWN ON THE SPACEBAR WITHOUT TAKING YOUR FINGER OFF) WHICH LASTS ABOUT 3 TO 4 SECONDS, THEN PAUSES FOR ABOUT 1 OR 2 SECONDS, THEN KEEPS ON REPEATING ITSELF! IF THEIR'S ANYONE WHO CAN HELP, IT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I would say that your start up disk is corrupted and it is not being able to be found... just a thought. Like your hard drive is screwed up and it won't start up the infromation... so you computer just continually is running it but no information is beeing read off of it. I am not an expert in hard ware but that would be my guess
