Greetings all,
You know how Microsoft's SBS Server 2003 has the built in "My Company's Internal Web Site" what I would like to know is can this be set up in Server 2000? Or is it alrealy there and I just have not found it?
Thanks.

As far as I know there is no built-in company web site in Windows 2000 Server, just a default instance in IIS.

Hope This Helps,

Good Luck!

This has always been possible, but SBS 2003 makes a lot of the setup easier for you.

SharePoint requires Windows 2003, so you can't use that unless you have a member server somewhere that is running 2003.

All that the company web is, is a SharePoint site and each workstation has been configured to use it. You can of course create an intranet site and simply foce ti as the default web page for all desktops by using Group Policy.

Mimicing all of the content in SharePoint is not impossible but could be quite challenging if you do not know ASP code or another such technology to allow you to generate a more dynamic web site.

SharePoint has a number of really nice features such as document check in/out which would be very difficult to duplicate outside of SharePoint.

If you do have a 2003 server you can download SharePoint from
I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
