When the message email is received by a client, a read receipt is requested to be sent back to the call pilot server. The call pilot server doesn't accept the read receipt, and thus doesn't turn off the MWI.

The email server is Microsoft exchange 6.5.7638.2 running service pack 2.

When you say the the CP server doesn't accept the read receipt, do you get an error?

I just did a test - sent myself a voice mail, requesting acknowledgement. The light stayed on until I read the read receipt then it went off.

What version of CP are you running?
 
Callpilot 5.0 just installed this weekend.
