hello evry one ,first of all I have some qestion on BCM50 operating system I know thats linux , but I need to know if there is a way to make a backup copy for this operating system so I can fix any damged hard disk for nortel BCM50 ....

My problem , I am working in BCM50a sudnly this system stop workink and the system cann't boot as usual all serices and all telephone connected on the BCM not working it seems to me that the system cann't find the operating system ( ??!!!! #,,,,,

I tried to make reset # level 1 & 2 # but it didn't work the system continue to rebooting .

there is no acsess for element maneger also or any thing else .

is that mean that I need to buy another hard disk from nortel # I found evry thing is ok on the system power supply and router and the motherbord ....) so I think my problem is in the image file of the OS stored in the hard disk

firebirdscambler, 450s are now shipping with a multi image on them (you can chose 450r1,450r5 or 450r6). If you get a chance can you backup the HDD to a tib file before you select it. I forgot, next time I'll try to remember it, so we can ship out replacement 450 HDD to site if require and you just select the version.

I think the same Hard drive does all systems from BCM50 rel1 to rel6 and 450 rel1 to rel6.
You select software version you are replacing.
Once you have chosen your option and confirmed you cant go back.

At least now you back up will be useful for a change.
