Hi,
I have upgraded client's box with GA-7N400E m/b, 2x512 DDR400 and Asus V9560/TD video card that has 256mb memory. Format HDD and install Win98se but hung after "Starting windows for the first time" msg. I loaded "failsafe" BIOS settings which allowed installation to finish.
I loaded M/B chipset drivers then tried VGA drivers which returned failed message. I installed his old video card (64mb Asus MX440) and works OK.
I installed the new video card (V9560) in another computer which also has Gigabyte M/B (GA-7VM400M) and no problems, though that computer is running Windows XP.
My question is this;- are you aware of any compatability issues between the GA-7N400E and Asus V9560 or could it be a Windows 98 problem? I don't know what the original BIOS settings were as I presumed it would be the default though when I loaded "failsafe", the install completed without a hitch.
I hope you can help me with this problem as I really want to put the big video card back in my client's computer.
Thanks........
