Hi,
Im currently using ws ftp to change chmod setting. Can I do this with Dreamweaver MX?
Recently, for some reason, Dreamweaver seems to be uploading files as 700 by default?! Or could this be something to do with the server?
Thanks.

"files as 700 "
700 what? the size?the name?
chmod should not be possible from within DW ...I think this would have to be done on server side...or like u have with an FTP program. I know that if you declare the site and upload the /folders/files/ those folders will be uploaded but the rights assigned on the folder will probably be public-full "read-only".
U CAN use DW on the site files (local view) right-click on folder and "Turn of read-only"
aspect from the folder. Ones folder-rights are setup on the server (eg databse folder has R but not W) uploading them back will not change its properties.
What I have been doing is 1st setting up folder/structure onthe server and then simply D/L to my development machine....but it doesn't really matter.
so I my best guess would be: use the ftp program to double check the rights. and after ur 100% sure put another 10% on the top of it and test your server/folder browsing/deleting....better be safe then to wake up with a porn popup insted of your index.html file ;-) if u know what I mean
All the best!

one more thought...I am sure u know but..I like being reminded so "I do it to the others" (<-- didn't apply with my ex though :) )
if the folder has "progressing-inheritable" rights assigned on the server....well the subfolders will inherit the rights...hmmmm...remember your virtual folders as well....hmmm..can't think of more
I knew u knew it... ;-)
All the best!
