MX 2004 Slow Performance?

I have been using Fireworks MX 2004 for a while now, and I love it, except after a few hours the thing bogs down and runs so slow there is literally a five second delay on everything I do.

I shut the program down and restart, and it runs great for a few more hours.

I installed the 7.01 update and still the problem persists. I am using Windows XP w/ AMD Athlon 1800, and a 256MB SiS Video Card.

There are a couple of things you can do to speed it up.

Check the Don't show again box at the bottom left of the opening page. Keep the number of fonts, plugins, and styles you load to a minimum. Don't add Live effects until you know you won't be moving objects around on the canvas anymore. Reduce the number of undo steps. Turn off any programs running in the background, such as anti-virus software. You didn't mention how much RAM you have installed on your system, but you can never have too much.

I haven't checked it out yet, but the release notes say:

"The 7.0.2 updater fixes all the issues that were resolved in the 7.0.1 updater (see below). In addition, it addresses performance bugs found in Fireworks MX 2004"
