Hello all,

17 module, 3 cabinet Legend R7 with a refurbed MLM 007. The customer had an Octel 50, and we installed the MLM to replace the Octel. The MWI's were working on the Octel. I did a board renumber after the MLM was installed and everything is working except the MWI's.

I have scoured the forums and confirmed all of the following settings:
- Rotary enabled VM Ports
- Linear Hunt Type
- Users are in Covering Group
- I am sure the message is left for a user and not a Hunt Group
- Feature 53/*53 is turning on/off MWI's

I also watched the 4th port on the MLM, after leaving a message for a user, and the port goes red showing it is doing something (hopefully attempting to turn on MWI's).

Any reason the PBX doesnt like the MWI code from the MLM? I am thinking it has something to do w/ the board renum

Check that the SA and/or ICOM buttons on the mail ports are set to immediate ring. You do not need to rotary enable the ports for an 007MLM. Also - I assume your VM group type has been set to integrated voicemail. You may also need to check your TTR's.

17 modules, , 4-port mail, .... If the VM System is getting "hammered", the 4the port would, at times, be too busy to send a MWI update. If this the case, "some" of the MWI's would work.
Do any of them work?

Is system squared or hybrid? If squared make sure vm ports are set for auto line select to sa buttons. Do it under central prog.

Hey guys, sorry for the late response. The PBX is a 17 module system, but there are only about 20 users with no auto attendant, the 4 ports are sufficient. System is Hybrid... the fact I dont need to rotary enable the ports on a MLM surprised me, and this is probably the issue.

Doing away with "rotary enabled" probably will not have an impact on your original problem. Post a printout of the vm port extentions - or at least the last port - so we can see what is going on.

A "bad" TTR or several "bad" TTR's could still be an issue. The Legend R7 does not "busy out" bad TTR's - but you may see some "All TTR Unavailable" eerors in the processor error log. I would test all of the TTR's just to be sure that factor is not a contributor to your problem.

td, you get a star! I found pool 895 assigned to the VM ports, guessed ALS was set to 895. Reset ALS to pick up SA buttons first and MWI's are working now.
Thanks for your time!
