Hello All,

First off, I'm pretty much a n00b to all this.

Currently, the company is running a Merlin Magix 2.0 v9.0 system with a Merlin Messaging system. I just upgraded the messaging from a 2 port to a 10 port card. Now, the message waiting indicator light won't go out after you check the messages like it used to. I can force the light to go out in all the typical ways. However, I would like it to go out whenever someone checks their messages (listen to them or delete them).

My only access right now is through the 4424LD+ administrator phone on my desk.

Any thoughts?

Did you program the new ports into group 770 as well as set them as rotary enable extensions?

I did not. How would I do that or check to see if it is done?

It appears that I have corrected the issue after reading a manual that I finally found.

Corrected the group calling members and change the hunt group to linear instead of circular. Works so far.

Still trying to figure out why 7101 was listed as a member in the old 2 port set up.

I would double check your 10 VM ports to make sure you have included all of them as members of your VM Calling Group. A simple technique I use is to renumber the VM ports to the 600 range - that way I rarely get confused as to what they are or should be. Then, double-check by dialing each VM port ext to see if it answers. It is the last port Port 10) that turns the MWI lights on and off - so it is especially important that it be included in you VM Group members. And - as you know the added ports need to be rotary enabled.
