Hello;

Running IPO 8.1 500 v2

When you use UMS and mapi to send the voicemail to email so you can play within the browser is the MWI supposed to light up?
I can get it to light up when I switch the user to "copy" instead of forward.

Maybe I'm missing something really small?

It used to be the MWI would be light up even with forward on, then once listened to in or marked as read in the email the light woudl turn off. This recently stopped working and I can't figure out why. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Forward is fire and forget to email. Copy will send to both email and mwi with the mwi staying on if you listen to the email, unless you have MS exchange 2012 or it could be 2010, which will allow broadcast to both and share 'mail has been collected information'.
F1 in that section explains this or something similar.

Looking in the knowledgebase, but not seeing much; probably blind because I've been up too long.

I'm looking in this area:
http://marketingtools.avaya.com/knowledgebase/businesspartner/ipoffice81en/mergedProjects/voicemailpro/mailbox_overview_mailbox_control.htm

Hopefully I'm at least close? You mentioned F1, what exactly do you mean by that?

Thank you for your help so far, it's appreciated!

Using manager go to that section of programming and press F1 or help. It's explained there.

If you're using the the UMS and MAPI to access and manage messages via Exchange, then yes, if configured correctly you also get MWI operation. So what are you browsing? - Outlook mailbox or Voicemail Pro IMS or IMAP.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

The MWI was working, then just stopped a few weeks ago. No upgrades on VM pro or on the exchange server.

As far as what I'm browsing? I don't quite understand what you mean, but I was responding back to holdmusic about the f1 comment, as I didn't put 2 + 2 together.

Shows:
UMS 0 Seats
IMAP N/A

Ok, finally saw what holdmusic was talking about and came across this:

Forward
If this mode is selected, each time a new voicemail message is received in the voicemail mailbox, that message is attached to an email and sent to the email address. No copy of the voicemail message is retained in the voicemail mailbox and their is no message waiting indication. As with Copy, there is no mailbox synchronization between the email and voicemail mailboxes. Users can also select this mode by dialing *01 from their extension.

The only thing I don't understand in this is by default *01 is forward unconditional on - nothing to do with mailbox synchronization, anyone know what the correct shortcode is/should be?

Thanks so much for the help.

*01 is supposed to be used when you have accessed your VM box, it is only available for use in IP Office mode.

Got ya... we're in intuity; thank you for that.
