First, I've been reading these forums for months pruning helpful information from posts. Thanks to all the regulars who post here.

We've just built our first ACD queue, which includes 9 agents; we'd never used them before, so it has been a learning process (hence the aforementioned kudos). Since deploying it, our M3904 users who are part of the ACD no longer have their MWI lamps lighting when they receive voicemail on their personal DN. This is a release 5.5 switch.

The M3904s have KEY 0 as the ACD, obviously, and then KEY 1 as SCR their personal DN. Their personal DN is MARPed to their TN. Their phones include classes MWA and LMPX. And in CallPilot (4.04), their personal DN is in the MWI field and enabled.

One additional piece of data is that their personal DNs are all SCN on KEYs 4 through 11 on each other's phone, simply so that they are able to see if other users are on their personal lines.

After a bit of research, some posts I've read seem to suggest that having the DNs on more than one handset (e.g. everybody having everybody else's DNs are SCNs on KEYs 4 through 11) will cause the MWI lamp not to function properly. However, other posts seem to suggest that CLS LMPX allows this to function properly.

I'm not strictly opposed to giving them an XMWK instead of their MWI lamp, but ideally, I'd like to get the MWI lamp going. Can it be done, given the setup, and if so, what am I doing wrong that's causing it not to light?

Thanks in advance!

I think you will need the XMWK key or add a secondary DN to each phone and set the MWI DN in CallPilot to that DN. You can make that DN SCN instead of SCR.

Because the DN appears on many phones, and does not appear as KEY 00 anywhere, the PBX does not know what phone it is supposed to light.

If the users DNs appeared ONLY on their own phones, the PBX could reason that out and assume "that must be the phone I should light", even though it is not a KEY 00 DN.

That's the "reason" you need to do XMWK -or- remove the additional DN appearances.
