MWI does not work

Hi
i got a modular messaging 3.0 / one MSS and 2 MAS, mwi is running on MAS1.
mwi is not working, we already restartet the 3 server, it's not a new install, it was working for the last 4 years.
as far as i know, nobody made a change on the config
i checked the mwistate.mdb , when i left a message the "lamp state" is still OFF, to me it looks like the database is not current.
if i change the lamp state for my extension on the database to ON and then start the MWI update on the Voice Mail Domain , the lamp lights on.
i also renamed the mwistate.mdb to mwistate.mdb.old
the system then generated a new database, the lamp state on all extensions is set to OFF
does anybody got an idee ?

this system was build by an other company
on the event viewer i got the error 146
(Failed to logon to VVSTS trusted server. The password and/or IP address may be incorrect)
the ip address is correct, the VVSTS password we don't no
now if i change on the MSS by the point trusted server the password,
where do i have to change the password on the MAS ?

On the MAS, VMSC, Security, Message Application Server... change the IMAPI password.

Your MSS trust should be pointing to the private IP address of the MAS.
