Hi
I haven't seen a post on this here so I thought I'd correct that error.
There is a website ( that is run by, probably one of the most knowledgeable Sybase DBA's I've ever come across, his name is Rob Verschoor.
He's written a book called "The Complete Sybase ASE quick Reference Guide".
It covers 11.9 / 12.0 and 12.5 versions of Sybase.
All I can say is "Damn!!" what a great reference. Yes, it's a REFERENCE not a HOW TO. So it's perfect for you guys (like me) who do Sybase development all day. We already know the ins and out, but may need that little reminder on how to use a proc, what the finer details of a specific dbcc command or what a specific traceflag does.
The book itself can be ordered from the website. I did just that and it was delivered, from the Netherlands to Canada, in about a week.
As a side note: He's also writing a complete book called "Tips/Tricks and Recipes for Sybase ASE" which if his reference guide is any indication, it will be full of relevant easy to understand info.
Truly a MUST HAVE for any Sybase professional / developer.
Enjoy.
