I am developing a web site for an audience with 56k modems.

I want to loop a music piece in the intro.

I went to flaskkit.com and browsed through the pieces in the music loops link.

A 3 sec piece is 578k. Even after compressing a little in flash, that is a lot of kb to add to my movie.

I have downloaded movies with bg music fairly quickly through my 56 modem connection. How are people doing this?

That 578k is an uncompressed .wav file I'm guessing.

Import it into Flash then right click on the sound in the library, select Export Settings. Here you can select MP3 compression rather than the default and convert stereo to mono which will make a huge difference to file size. Slainte
