I have a directory of MP3 files and I want to make a 'music player' that can be downloaded and the 'playlist' is made up of the files in the website directory containing the mp3 files...

(would love to have the files dynamically indexed, but for the sake of simplicity - since Im kind of a newbie @ director 8.5 - lets say 10 predefined mp3 files)...

can I create cast members that are accessed via a URL and play sounds that way? or do the mp3's have to be inside my shockwave projector file?

-- HELP!?!

I found a way to pull this off using the .SWA format...

For anyone else who may be looking for a solution like this I'm streaming .swa files that are stored on the LIVE web server with a preload of 5 seconds specified...

Hard core Director users: will this method work simultaneously for many users (Im expecting thousands of users each day based on my current traffic - to try to use the music player which will be available as a standalone application they can download for their desktop (PC) OR as a web 'page' with shockwave player embedded)

Its working great for me ... but I just need to be sure its solid enough for many simultaneous downloads...

Now comes the fun part... the GUI and making it look high-tech like a real stereo!
