Can you play music over a Legend or Magix phone set like you can with the Partner? If so, what are the programming proceduress?

no, you cannot.

It connects to a trunk port on the system so that is why you can't play it over the phone set.

Can't you program a trunk access button or use a feature code with permissions to pick up the music trunk at a station? I have not tried it, but seems reasonable.

Not that I know of. When you program the trunk for MOH it changes the accesability to the port.

Yep, once you set it to MOH, it basically becomes unaccessible to any set.
