I have an external CD Player (Radio Shack) connected to an Option 81c v25.40 for music on hold (yes, its royalty free cd music). The volume of the music is low in the handset. I've tried several phone and adjusted the volume to max on the sets. It's still low. The volume control on the cd player is set about mid range and any increase on the player volume cuts the music off. Is there an adjustment somewhere to increase the volume in the 81c or is this an impedence problem between the cd player and the switch?

I would go with the impedance as there is now volume adjustment in the Meridian. Have you tried using a DIVA MP3 player. Works good & no moving parts.

It make a difference how the cd is connected - I found bext results using headset jack - just cut the headset part off a cheep headset and besure to connect the left and right together on the Tip and the common on the ring.

If you have a MIRAN you can adjust volume with Univ trk card you can not

I just threw together an old PC marked for yardsale for my MOH. I have three PCs at three locations that are spread out. Since I have the PCs hooked up to the network I can remote in and change the looped MP3 at any time. This works great if you want to use different audio tracks for different seasons or to keep your customers up to date on company specials or events.

Just thought I'd share my MOH experience.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll be making some changes and see what developes.
