Hey all

I have an Avaya CM7 running contact center with AMS

We have always had the odd complaint about MOH

We use CD Quality 320 tracks which are then converted to WAV

When you call them on a landline they play ok when played on a mobile quality issues

I know its the mobile signal but the business want it looked into
Can the Avaya direct stream MOH from places like spotify or are there specialists outs there that can make WAV files sound stupendous

Thanks all

No No No No No.

It's getting transcoded again to hit mobile. That's why it sounds bad.

Spotify - if you could do it - would sound worse. I can stream decent MP3s on the speaker of Avaya phones in G722 and they sound pretty good all things considered. Sounds like crap on the PSTN at G711.

Probably even worse transcoded again to mobile codecs.

Lo-fi elevator muzak is the answer.

You can't win in the contact center world. We went around and around for months. The hold music is too loud, too soft, too sleepy, too jazzy, etc. Nothing will make them happy. I got lucky in my case, the VP eventually got fired.
