Music On Hold?

On a 2400 IPX system I was told by our service vendor that an external music on hold device will not work on the IP phones calling IP to IP. True?

We have a external music on hold system that works great on regular DTERM's but when calling IP to IP and placed on hold we hear the system (Ice Cream Man) music.

Also when calling from the outside to an IP phone works fine we hear the external music and it also works the other way around.

Please tell me this is not true so I can yell at our vendor to fix it.

Unfortunately, your vendor is correct. This has been an ongoing battle.

You can record a wave file to the IP Dterm to be used for MOH. Your vendor should be able to provide you the instructions to do that. It's not too difficult.
