Hello

Would someone please advise me how I may pinpoint the layer/frame that a music file begins on? I have a music file which I wish to change.

All I was going to do was identify the layer/frame and presumably I would see the music file in Properties. I was then going to substitute it.

The music file I have only lasts for 2 mins; do I need to 'loop' it so that it plays repeatedly and how would I do that?

Many thanks.

Steve

Yes, oldnewbie. I am trying to modify a bought template.

I was hoping to locate, in the timeframe, the current music file and then change it to my own. Then, rather than it stop playing after a couple of minutes, I was hoping for it to repeat.

Thanks.

I'll look, oldnewbie and get back.

Thank you for getting back to me.

Hello oldnewbie

The main sound file in the Library is a .wav file (61.wav). There are others, but they are things like 'click' for when the mouse is clicked.

The linkage properties for 61.Wav are absent, but I have uploaded a screenshot from Movie Explorer here:

I have searched for it and it seems to be located on layer 10 (frame 5); there is nothing in Actions, but in Properties I can see the name of the sound file: 61.wav.

Is it, then, just a question of importing my own sound file and inserting it in the same place? If so, how do I know it will (or won't stop) after 2 mins (its duration)? I don't think the present sound file (61.wav) does stop.

Thanks.

Steve

Hello Oldnewbie

I have sent the file to your email.

Hope it's not too big.

Cheers for looking at it.

If it wasn't zipped up and/or over 10MBs, then I won't (and didn't as of now...) received anything...

You only other options, are to upload it to some web space of your's and provide a link (through mail) to download it from there, or to use a sharing file site as , and also provide the ling through mail...

Last, you could possibly link me to the original template's site and provide the link to that particular template.

Well, isn't it obvious where the sound begins?

There's an Event Sound layer above layer 15, and the sound starts on frame 5...

Basically insert a layer on top of the existing one, by hilighting the existing sound layer, and hitting the insert layer button (first button on the left, below the layers...).

Select frame 5 on the new layer, and press F6 twice to insert 2 keyframes.

Move back to frame 5 and select it, and then drag your new prteviously imported sound file from the Library to the stage. Make sure that in the sound's properties panel, the Sync box is set to event, and the other to Loop.

Delete the original sound layer by selecting it and hitting the trash can below the layers.

Test your movie. It should work and the music loop.

Hello oldnewbie

Many thanks again for your time and trouble.

I have done exactly what you have said, except that I think you mean Layer 10 and not Layer 15:

There are two points I am stuck on. When I try to drag the sound file to the stage I see nothing; the other concern I have is that you suggest deleting the original sound layer. But on that layer I think there are other events - I can see quite a few little action scripts along the layer
(in frames 57 and 62, for example).

Cheers

Steve
