A customer recently had some professional recordings done for their AA in a Magix 4.0/M.Mess. 4.0. I can get the file downloaded but I get the following error when attempting:

"The imported WAVE file contains corrupt audio data length information. Although this corruption may not result in a problem when the file is played on a PC sound system, it must be fixed before it can be transmitted to the MMess system.

The MMess Administration Application corrected this problem in a copy of of the imported file. Press NO if you choose not to send the corrected file to the messaging system. Press YES if you choose to send the file to the MMess system. After sending the file, it is strongly recommended that you review the recording and re-record if necessary."

When I choose yes and import the file, it sounds terrible. Like it is WAAYYY tooo loud and crackles. I tried to have the company resend the file in a WAV format so I didn't have to convert the WMA file that they sent to me. Still sounds poor. Has anyone ever seen this error? Thx in advance.

The specs for the wave file recording(s) for greetings/announcements are in the Magix R4 manual - and the original recordings need to be recorded exactly according to those specifications to work properly. I do not believe a "converted" wma file will work, nor will a wav file work that has the wrong specifications - as you discovered.
