Hey all...

I have a MutliTech VOIP 2port on one end, FXS Loop Start, and a 8port on the other end, PBX FXO. All works fine except for the echo I hear on the 2 port side. The echo is not heard by the PBX side at all. The only option I can find is the echo cancelation and thats turned on on both sides. Any ideas out there? Any other info needed?

Thanks
John

I have read that most echo problems are nto echo problem but symptoms of packet loss probelms (which then cause the echo cancellatio0n to go hay wire.

Have you checked for packet loss?

Good luck.

I have checked for packet loss and I have some but not drastic amounts...just made another test call and there was 0 packet loss but still crazy echo on the remote end...the PBX side doesn't even hear it.

So what happens if you turn on echo cancellation? If it is not needed in the one direction it still should do any harm.

If you only here it when on the 2 port side calling through to the 8 port side (did I get that right) then the problem is almost certiamly at the 8 port side.

Those 8 FXO's are interfaced to a PBX, correct? If the echo occurs when dialin a local PBX extnesion that narrows things down. In that case you need to check and see if the PBX or the FXO ports have any impedence or level settings. If so post what the options are for both your FXO and the PBX ports

Good luck

Best of luck

The problem happens when the 2 port makes or receives a call...I was playing with the input and output gain of the 2 port and I've got things cleaned up, now I have to put it on other end and test again, I was testing in house and will not put at remote location and see what happens...

Thanks
John

Have you tried calling between ports on the same unit?
