Does anyone have any experience with this product? I've installed a number of MVP810 units that work well for the most part however the echo cancellation setting drowns out the voice of the caller on the other end of the call.

This creates a half-duplex voice scenario. If callers do not talk at the same time it works great however if there is a lot of background noise the caller is very hard to hear.

Disabling echo cancellation solves the problem however the echo makes the circuit unusable.

My configuration is strictly to provide remote dialtone. FXO ports are connected to CO lines and FXS to station equipment.

The problem can be replicated with FXO and FXS ports configured on the SAME unit. No ethernet cable is attached. This eliminates any network related issues.

Any hints?

Have you tried to put them on the bench with just a crossover cable connecting them? Just got set up as an optimum reseller, so keep me posted if you find the problem

Yes. The testing noted above was completed with one unit ie: calling from port 1 (FXO) to port 2 (FXS) on the same box.

No, did you take the 2 boxes from each site and put them together on a table with a crossover cable to join them.

Well, that defenitely narrows it down to a port setting. Have you called their technical support? They boast that anyone can always call.....
