Multisession DVD recognized but cannot be read

Guys,

I've got a problem with some multisession DVDs I've created. The original files were deleted and I have to recover the data.
When put inside the drive, the DVD is recognized and the files that were burned are viewable in Nero (in grey colour). When I try to finalize the DVD, modify the data, add data....the program won;t let me. Tried other software and drives....but all in vain.
The curious thing is that the files inside the DVD ARE SEEN and this is not the TOC menu because from beneath, I can see the burned section on the disc....quite a large area.
Any ideas???

I don't know whether these will do anything as they mainly talk about recovering data from a formatted DVD but they may be worth a look.
