A business unit has a vector which they want to route to 2 stations with them both ringing at the same time.

Both these stations are already using there coverage paths for voicemail.

Any ideas on the best way to do this?

They also want the calls to go to a group Voicemail box if not answered within 25 seconds.

This group will be increasing to 10 stations shortly, and no they won't go for agent logons...

jamesmatthews,

Just Another Silly Customer Request. imagine that, if both phones should ring at the same time and nobody answers, in which voicemail box should the call go? both? or one of them? which one then? you can't say offhand? i bet your system can't too. if they want it done, let them think how to do it. brain sweat is good for them once in a while.

You could send the step in the vector to go to a virtual station, the virtual station has a cover path, that in step 1 sends it to a cover answer group containing the two phones that will then ring at the same time, going forward with this you will have to inform the customer that they will only be able to have a maximum of 8 stations to you ring at the same time (limit in the cover answer group), then point two in the cover path will send it to voicemail, create a voicemail box with the same DN as the virtual station. This will then send the call after, however many rings you determine in the cover path, if the two handsets dont answer to voicemail, in the voicemail box record the greetings appropriate to what the customer wants and all should be good.

I am doing something that sounds similar to what you describe.

You'll need to setup:
1.) Coverage answer group, with the designated stations you want to ring.
2.) Cover path, point 1 being the coverage answer group i.e. c1, point 2 being your hunt group for VM i.e. h99.
3.) Dummy station with coverage to new cover path.
4.) Now point the vector to the dummy station.

The result should work like this the vector puts the calls to the dummy station this then follows the cover path and stats ring the coverage answer group. If they don't answer it follows point 2 of the cover path and goes to Voicemail, for mailbox of the dummy station.

Or make a terminating extension group, you can have the vector route to it and it can have its own voicemail for the group

Many thanks for this - worked like a dream.

Dwalin - would love to have given it back to the business to solve but it would have then involved several days of whinging and moaning about them not getting what they want

James,
Which solution did you use?

jamesmatthews,

first they whine and moan, then they start thinking. meanwhile you have several days for other duties. it's your choice really, whether to implement silly requests or try to discipline your users...

Master Racker - I used Coxy03's solution

Dwalin - I agree, but educating them is an ongoing battle, this is quite an easy one compared to some of the call flows they need producing.
