Insert, field object, formula field. A formula editor wondow will open then you canbrowse among the field objects, pick one by dbl clicking on it, then press the * key for mutiplication, then dbl click onthe second object.

That is what I have been doing, but formula editor tells me a number is needed here.....my foumula follows{OverTime.Hours}*{OverTime.Rate} then crystal tells me there is an error in the formula. It says a number is required here......seems like this should be simple to me....more help needed.
That means that one, or both, of your database fields are not number data types and therefore cannot be multiplied. Go back to your database and confirm which of these fields are not number data types, then change them to numbers if you can. Then come back into crystal and click on database, verify database and your report should work fine.
If you cannot change the data type on the database side, you will need to convert these field values to numbers first on the crystal side, then multiply them.
