I have a sonicwall tz180 firewall set up to accept vpn connection from AVAYA telephones. The vpn is an IPSEC vpn tunnel and I have local users set up for each phone. Consistent natting is turned on in the tz180 as well. The remote appliance is just a linksys router. Wehn I connect 1 telephone there are no problems whatsoever. When I add the second telephone from the same remote public IP, the first phone gets booted and the tunnel re establishes with the second phone. Is there a setting in the sonicwall I need to turn on to enable multiple vpn connections from the same remote public ip?

The problem might be with your remote site router not handling the VPN connections properly as I have seen this before.

Is it possible for you to try a different router?

The sonciwall can definatly handle multiple connections from the same IP by default.

Thanks.

Actually I upgraded the TZ180 to the enhanced version and reset up the VPN tunnel and it solved the issue.
