I want to be able to have 2 phones on my desk ext 1111 and ext 2222. Extension 1111 is my primary phone where I will do the usually call me, find me and notify me. The 2222 extension I use for projects and testing, I just want to have it notify me via email. The problem I am running into is that when I set up the vmb for 2222 it is asking me for a email handle. My understanding is in the email handle this is where you put your user name for the corporate domain email address. I already used up my email name with ext 1111. How can I get around this? I only have one email address, if I set up vmb 1111 with a secondary extension. My understanding is the secondary extension will follow the primary vmb subscriber options.

Question 2: In order to get notified of a voice mail in your email in box, the user has to have the outlook thin client loaded on their pc correct? They can not just use the WSO options with out the OTC. Or am I wrong here.

I have a cust withh modular messaging and outlook they want to listen to there voicemails on there PC's not sure where the software is for that am I wrong to think that the software is on the MAS Cd or does cust download from there network

Do they have an MSS for the message store or are they using Exchange? The OTC is on the CD but you can also download it from the Avaya site as it is updated all the time.

My understanding is that the email address is for MM's purposes. If you want email notifications, you can use the Notify Me feature in WSO.

Depending on your needs, you might want to set up 2222 as a secondary extension under 1111. Then you don't need a mailbox for 2222 at all. Any voicemail activity would just use the settings for 1111.

I have MM 3.1 SP6, just for reference.

Thank you for responding, for refference I am running MM 4.0. the problem was that I needed a test box to play with that would not affect my primary VMB Notification rules each time I tet a new configuration.

In order for me to do this, I had to have my corporate IT folks assign me a separate email for testing purposes.
