Multiple VLANS on Passport 8000 and BPS2000

I work with a 750 node network spread across about 15 buildings. We utilize Passport 8000's connected by ATM fiber as a hub for the BPS2000s.
Currently we only use VLAN 2. I would like to learn more about VLAN's to optimize our network. Currently our network is running slower than it should.

So where can one learn about VLANS and how to set them up on Nortel equipment?

Second I will be installing some wireless LAN equipment across base. The WLAN needs to be on a separate VLAN and isolated from the main LAN. It will be routed back to the main network through a Continvity 2600 VPN switch.
How can I 'trunk' the VLANs through the ATM of the Passports.

I think you can download docs for free from Nortel's site. I just downloaded a doc without logging in, but there may be some things that require an account with Nortel.

Then go to "Browse Product Support"...(they recently changed their web site around).

What version of code are you running? If you can't find the doc you want, do you have some way I could send a PDF to you? Most of the docs are kinda big for email.

Good luck...

I can suggest an excellent Nortel Networks trainer, if you want to go that far. We have a 150 site WAN with over 3000 nodes using about 300 Vlans with filters. We have been trained by a Mike Whitehurst who can provide full training in a lab environment (he has his own Passport 8000's and BPS's). If you want to know more I could send you his email, I don't really want to broadcast it here!
