I am hoping someone can refresh my memory on which versions of Crystal can co-exist on the same machine. Is it v8 and up, or v8.5 and up?

Thanks

I have 7, 10 and 2008 all on same PC and have not had any problems. Having said that I have never tried to run them at the same time.

You just have to install them in order ie oldest first.

Hi,
A problem can arise if you use a newer version to open a report created by an older version and save it from the newer CR - it then becomes incompatible with the older CR version ( especially true with opening a v7 with anything after 8.0 )

I agree that there can be problems by saving a report to a newer version, in my case I sometimes need to open and work on a report in specific version, and save it to that same version.

I have v7,8,8.5,9,10,11,11.5 currently and am trying to figure out which ones can co-exist. I thought that some of the earlier versions used the same DLL names, hence if I install v8 that I would have problems trying to use v7.

I used to have versions 7, 8.5, 9, 10, and 11.5 on the same box with no significant problems, so I am sure you can have v7 on the same box as v8.5. But since v8.5 can save as a v7 report I think v8.5 is the oldest that you need. Just remember the things that you can't use in v7 (like DateAdd) and you will be fine. You certainly don't need v8 with v8.5 (Or v11 with v11.5).
