Ok, here is the deal. I have a multitude of domains running on an Imail server. I am thinking of migrating them over to sendmail. Creating vhosts and virtual mail domains I can handle, but I need to know if there is a way to have joe@domain1.com and joe@domain2.com and so on and so forth. ALiases I can do, but I really need to have pop'able multiple joes.

The only way I know of is to use the user name plus the domain name. For example, joe.domain1 and joe.domain2. Then you would create a virtusertable which would point joe@domain1.com to joe.domain1 and joe@domain2.com to joe.domain2. A virtusertable is very much like the alias file but you can do entire domains rather than a just one name to another name. And instead of using the command "newaliases", you would do something like this:

makemap hash virtusertable.db < virtusertable

Thisd assumes you are in the same directory as the virtusertable. If you want admins to be able to do this for their own sites, then you may want to look into webmin at and a module for it called virtualmin which you should also be able to find at the webmin site. Hope I made sense.

another alternative to virtualmin under webmin is Virtualmail, which appends a unique group id to the desired username creating the desired uniqueness
