Hello,

We have a project file that contains the basic information about the project and we need the teams in charge of each task to add their information into the project file. Is there a way, if we send out a copy of the file to each team leader, to have them make their additions and/or changes and then submit the file back to us. Once we have the multiple files, is there a compare or merge function to determine what additions each team made, and then make a master document from the submitted files?

If it is not possible, do you have a recommendation on another way to make a master project file based on inputted information from various team members.

We are just trying to avoid passing the file around to ensure changes and additions that have been made by one team are not touched my another

Thank you,
Jay

There is no way to lock the file so that one group does not change another group's information.

The closest you can come to that is to have separate plans for each group and a Master Project plan which is created by clicking on Insert | Project to insert the data into the

The issue then, of course, is "what do you do if certain portions of the project must be sent to two or more teams?" The answer is: there is no way to share the overlapping information.

In the end, a master project with inserted subprojects is the only easily workable solution.
