Hi all

We are about to start using Acrobat Professional 6 to convert all incoming mail to pdf format.

This will also enable editing of the pdf files.

Once a file has been converted to pdf at a specific workstation, it is believed that the program forces future edits to be made on the same machine.

The question: Can the program be set up so that other workstations can edit any pdf file?

edit them how? Are you aware that PDF's are note really made to be edited?
If you want to edit a PDF you open the source file it was created with (the email in your case,) edit the source, and just make a new PDF.

I don’t want to give you the wrong info. You can edit PDF's, but the program does not lend itself to editing as a word processor does.

As for multiple stations being able to edit a PDF: yes anyone could edit them. For instance if you emailed me a PDF, and it was not password protected, I could edit it.

So it is dependent on the security settings used when the PDF was created, as opposed to what work station created it.

Thanks bkrike, that was the info I wanted. (Yes we know it's not the same as a word processor)
