I have a database that seems to be working pretty well, except for one minor problem. When I had the database stored on the harddrive of my computer, information entered on a form would be on the form as record number 1, 2, etc. when you opened the form. I copied and pasted what I thought to be the working database onto a network drive (so that it could be accessed from several different computers - users will probably only be about 3 or 4) and now it is not retaining information in the form - although the information is still in the table. Whenever you open the form is shows as if there were no other records entered. My question is: How do I get the information to remain visible on the form, even if opened on a different computer? and does anyone have any idea why it might be doing this?
Thanks in advance,
Open the form in Design view
Click on Properties
click on the square in the upper left hand of the form. You will know it if it say "Form" in the properties box.
There should be something in the "record source" property
If not then click the right side of "record source" box on the little down arrow. Choose the table to connect to.
If your form is connected to a table or query then it will always show.
If not then you have something else going on.
The easiset way to connect a form to a table is click in tables view.
Highlight the table which a form will connect to.
click "Insert" menu
click "Autoform" Near the bottom
It will create a form automatiaclly and give you all of the fields and be connected.
Then click the design button and add your buttons and so forth.
