Good morning,

I have a site 9.0.12 running VMPRO Win10. TCM8 mods (T7316 phones).
The site has an issue clearing messages which is causing confusion. The office staff sit in different areas and are responsible for clearing messages out of a few group mailboxes.

Since the late 80's when Brooktrout cranked out the first Merlin Mail and up until yesterday, every variation of AVAYA VM has prevented a 2nd person from logging into the same mailbox by greeting them with the prompt "You cannot get your messages now due to multiple logins to your mailbox. Please disconnect." This is not the case at this site. Any thoughts?

Is this a source number thing, group mailbox quirk, call flow to get messages? It's a problem as they are repeating prescription and medical appointments.

Thanks

Mike

IPO should not allow 2 users to log into the same mailbox simultaneously as far as I m aware this has never changed
I would suggest a number of things

1) check that it is indeed impossible for 2 users to access the mailbox @ the same time (Avaya "may" have broken something)
2) check the users are genuinely deleting the messages
3) consider reconfiguring the Prescription line to use a Campaign, this would allow multiple agents to retrieve messages simultaneously & ensure that each message is only deliverer once.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Thanks for the suggestions. The campaign idea is good, but it's kind of a problem on a few mailboxes. I just uninstalled and reinstalled, no change. Wondering if it's "broke" considering downgrading, but I always feel there are residual files and config scraps left behind, even on the uninstall reinstall I did tonight.

Yes this is possible and no you cannot prevent it.
It sucks indeed.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

This is so wild! Tlpeter, I was about to reply back that it's the only site I ever had the issue on, but I just called into an R6.1 site and was able to double log in. I could not, however on a 9.1 so maybe they finally fixed it. Just an FYI.

Thx
