Ok Partner ACS 1.1 and Partner Mail VS 4.1, customer wants to have auto attendant message list several people with individual voicemails but only have one phone for the users. So the voicemails I can setup for unused extensions but I tried forwarding the fake extension to the extension with the phone and when I called in through the autoattendant it sent me to the forwarded phone but the voicemail never picked up. All four users need to have calls routed to this one phone but if no one answers then go to the individual's voicemail box. How can I do that?

Try using "Call Cover" - Feature 20.

Let's say the physical phone is Ext. 11, and the phantom is Ext. 12. Type in Feature-20-12-11. Set #320-12 to 1. Be sure 12 has Auto VMS coverage in #310.

If you call Ext 12, it should "ring" 12 once, then cover to Ext. 11, ring and cover back to 12's mailbox.

You will also need to test and see if the phantoms need to be actual physical ports without phones plugged in, or if you can get away with extension numbers that don't physically exist.

I tried using that feature but it didn't seem to take it. When I looked at some manual on the Avaya website it said that feature was only available on R2 and up. Anything else I can do?

1.1 is ancient, you need to upgrade the software. The newer software has more features that may work for your customer.

....JIM....

Flashing an old processor to the R6 level to take advantage of additional features is often suggested, but knowing that the ACS's power supply was improved a few revisions after the R1.1, purchasing a brand new R6 processor might be worth considering.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
