Multiple User Database Application 2

This is just a general question with regards to design. I want to create a program that has a VB front-end and an Access back-end. The program will reside on multiple computers but connect to the same database on a network drive. There will be more than one user using the program at a time. Is this possible?

It is possible but it has some limitations, do not try to connect too much users at a time. Access is a Desk-top system which will work fine for one user. Consider moving to SQL-Server or other RDBMS

I would like to disagree with the above post. I've created several multi-user database solutions with Access. The general rule of thumb is that if you have more than 20 concurrent users and the database is updated often, seriously consider using SQL Server as your backend database. With 20 or less users, Access seems to work fine if your application is programmed properly.

With 20 users or less on a small office lan, not in an industrial environment, with heavy network traffic, real time processing, internet connections, real database servers, and bussiness applications. S. van Els

I had thought about using another RDBMS but the person that I am making this database for does not want to purchase one. Therefore I am stuck using access. There are only 6 users and the network does not have very much traffic at all. Thanks for the help, I will try to do this with Access.
