I have installed on my pc both Oracle 8i and 9i.
I installed also the program Data Dictionary for Oracle (by Quest). This program uses the tnsnames.ora of 8i.

How can i make the program to check the tnsnames.ora of 9i?

PS:
The environment variable ORACLE_HOME points to 9i installation.
I also used the home selector to select the 9i home directory.

Define TNS_ADMIN environment (registry) variable and set it to the location (directory) of the correct tnsnames.ora file.

Regards, Dima

I did this (as an environment variable and in the registry too) but it does not work

Unfortunately I don't see your computer and can not find your mistake. Most probably you placed that key to the wrong locations, should be HKLM/Software/Oracle/HOMEx where x stands for the number of your 8i home and the value itself must point to the 9i tnsnames.ora location.
