Multiple TEST companies 1

I had a person tell me that on their GP install they have multiple test companies - WOW - that is news to me. I thought that you could only have one.

She then started talking about the word TEST and a "caret" in the name so that the payroll counts were not fudged up and they have as many test companies as the server will hold.

WOW - I missed that one entirely if that is the case

can anyone in this group tell me their experiences with this? I have restored one of our prod databases to TWO before, but never done this before...
