Does anyone know the way the system handles multiple targets in a firmware download? If I set up a download to go to five DS1s, let's say, does it do the first one, and once the first DS1 comes back up, it goes on to the next one? Or does it try to run through each of them at once? I'd hate to set this up, and have all my DS1s be out or service at the same time. I'm guessing the former, but have never actually watched it that closely.

It's one-at-a-time.

I've seen a firmware on DS1 fail and they had to rollback to the previous firmware to get the board back in service. The firmware upgrades don't take that long, my advice would be to do them one at a time (especially if you are bringing them up from mixed vintages), just in case you woulden't want all boards down at the same time and rollback on each. Make sure you have the documentation and previous firmware files available for rollback prcedure on any type of firmware upgrade. In cases where you can not find previous versions of firmware available for download, the switch saves a copy of the previous file for you. The command to check this is called: get boot-image (board location)
