Greetings and Happy New Year to All!

I have a quick, 30 second question for you. Does CRYSTAL REPORTS 7.0 allow for multiple query statements from Crystal SQL Designer into it's reports? If so, how? I'm unable to import multiple queries from it.

I'm going to NEW report, clicking on CUSTOM, clicking on DIRECTORY, and finally adding *.dc5;*.dct; *.qry to the "FILE OPEN" area. I'm having no problems bringing in one query statement to use, but not able to bring in multiple query statements.

Thanks!
Cherrel. X-)

Hi there Cherrel. Unfortunately, this is a limitation in Crystal. If you use a Crystal SQL Designer file as a report datasource, you can only use one QRY file as a datasource. FYI, this limitation also exists if you use a Crystal Dictionary file as your datasource.

If you have the rights in your SQL Server, you can do the following:
[ul][li]Create your queries using the Crystal SQL Designer.[/li]
[li]Create one or more views by copying the SQL statements created in the Crystal SQL Designer into your SQL Server views.[/li]
[li]Create your reports from those views.[/li][/ul]HTH, John Marrett

Stored Procedures allow multiple SQL statements. A record set created by a SP may solve the problem.

perhaps using the dictionaries and queries could be done through the use of individual subreports for each with the main report extracting the data
