hey,

i have a website under /var/
my DocumentRoot is /var/
I contacted my isp for redirecting an ip to website.foo.com

but it always shows the index file under /var/
now i want to acces my webpage when entering website.foo.com
When i create a virtual host and change de DocumentRoot in the virtual host it still shows the /var/ index file

i guess u need an alias for redirecting but i don't know how that works.

You're doing something wrong. Show some of your config files.

Do NOT post your entire config, only the relevent parts.

Investigate the use of the ~ which directs to the individual users.

website.foo.com/~personalwebsite

This goes to a user on the machine, and you can set it up that if a html directory exists, that will be sent.

i found out what the problem was.

in NameVirtualHost I used an ip. When I changed it to *:80 the website loads normally
