Guys, help me out here. I have been asked a question and its proving difficult to get a firm answer:

Is it possible to register multiple SIP devices to a single 3300 User account (not multi-device)?

So the benefits of SIP in general should allow this, however, we cant seem to get this to work on a 3300. Basically whichever device registers last boots the previously registered device off the PBX.

Im of the opinion that Mitel don't allow this but want to be 100% sure.

bob, from my very poor knowledge of SIP, multiple registrations is something you in theory should be allowed to do. However, I also think Mitel restrict you from doing this.

I you want two, three, four.. sip devices to ring at the same time you should spend two, three, four... licenses and put them into a personal ring group.

I will do some tests and come back with further comments.

Cheers, Daniel

When a Register is send to the 3300 for a valid SIP account that device will be registered, hence the previous will be NOT registered anymore. Multiple devices means multiple licences.

If it was ever possible I am sure Mitel would come up with a way to stop it given it screw up their licensing model.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
