Hello,

One of my salesmen recently got a new laptop running Windows Vista. This was a brand new machine two months ago and I have already had to reload the OS again. The problem, which seems to occur for no obvious reason, is that multiple services will crash, appear to come back, crash again, repear, etc...

The first time this happened (about 30 days ago), the services involved were:

Windows Audio
DHCP client
Windows Event Log
DNS client

This time around I notice:

Windows Audio
Security Center
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Network List Service

This is what the crash message looks like:

Problem signature:

In addition I am also logging the following error in event log over and over and over again:

Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager
Date: 1/25/2008 9:57:19 AM
Event ID: 7023
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: ########
Description:
The Network List Service service terminated with the following error:
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

(None of the other services log events like this)

I am beginning to suspect that this may be a hardware issue since the first time it happened I thought it was just a bad install of Vista so I completely wiped the hard drive and re-loaded a clean install of the OS and all drivers/apps, yet the problem is back now....any ideas???? thanks in advance.

bad ram is what it looks like right now
if you can kick the voltage up to the ram it might stabilize...if you can't then you have to replace the ram

the only other thing is to see if the hard drive or system is being cooled ok.

wish you luck

"Exception Code: c0000005"

This can often be traced back to an Access Denied and a Permission type problem, but not always.

This was mentioned in the above thread, at least I think this is what the poster was referring to?.

OllyDbg

With such a new machine, Warranty and return, comes to mind.
