I thier a utility built into Windows 2000 advanced server that allows you to shutdown all remote machines, at a specified time?

There is in Win2000S and in WinXP,so there must be in Win2000AS. Be careful how you use this but there is a command called SHUTDOWN.In WinXP if you type shutdown /i thenan interface willappear and you can then remotely close all the computers in the directory. However,in win2000S the same command simply shutdown the server - not such a great idea! Type shutdown and you have a less-powerful tool than the xp one.

By the way, shutdown /a on win2000s will abort any shutdown command so have this ready just in case.

We use this command, scheduled, on the administrator's xp workstation. Hope this helps
